Kathleen Quinlan received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for her touching portrayal of Marilyn Lovell, the wife of Astronaut Jim Lovell (Tom Hanks), in Ron Howard's, "Apollo 13.â She will next film a role in âCinema Veriteâ opposite James Gandolfini and Diane Lane for directors Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini.
Most recently, she completed filming the independent feature "Afterâ with John
Doman (âThe Wireâ) playing the wife and Mother of a family dealing with a tragic event. She appears in the upcoming films "The River Whyâ opposite William Hurt, "Eagles in the Chicken Coopâ and "Electra Luxx." Kathleen made her screen debut in George Lucasâ, "American Graffiti.â Other film credits include Oliver Stoneâs âThe Doors,â âMade of Honorâ, "Breach,â "Lawn Dogs,â "A Civil Action," âTrial by Jury,â "Claraâs Heart,â âSunset,â âTwilight Zone: The Movie,â âThe Last Winter,â "Independence Day,ââ âSunday Lovers,â "Hanky Panky,â âThe Runner Stumbles,â "The Promise,â âLifeguard,â and âI Never Promised You a Rose Gardenâ for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. On television, she starred in the CBS series âFamily Lawâ and most recently appeared in an acclaimed arc as Christina Scofield on the final season of "Prison Break.âÂ
On stage, Quinlan appeared in âLes Liaisons Dangereusesâ at the Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles. She received a Theater World Award in 1978 for her performance in Joseph Pappâs Public Theater production of âTaken In Marriage." Other stage credits include "Uncommon Women and Othersâ and "Accent on Youthâ.
